| Description of type of school | Ripon Grammar School is a state run secondary school for academically gifted children aged 11-18 years old. The school was founded in the 16th century by Queen Mary I and her husband King Philip of Spain. In our school there are just over 700 pupils most of whom live in Ripon and surrounding villages. We are located in the Yorkshire Dales which is a very beautiful part of England with rolling hills populated mostly by sheep and dairy cows. |
